We have some very good news in our fight to eradicate Polio.

• The Total # of Wild poliovirus (WPV1) cases in the world for the year 2021 was 5 versus 140 for the prior year 2020!!!
  (4 cases in Afghanistan & 1 in Pakistan).
• The total # of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVDPV) cases in the year 2021 was 586 versus 922 in 2020!

Be aware the 2021 #’s may still change a bit. However, the progress made in 2021 has been truly amazing.
