Diane Carlson is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) receiving a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville with a specialization in Comprehensive Health. She is a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist providing education on understanding and coping with grief to school districts in South Carolina and at community events.

In 2021, she was part of a national workgroup to develop NACG’s The Rights of a Student who is Grieving. She presented at the Palmetto State School Counselors Conference in 2021 and 2022.  Diane and her husband Kurt live in Inman, South Carolina. Currently, she serves as the Associate Director of the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation and as Co-Director of Camp Hands of Hope, a child-centered family-focused bereavement camp for residents of South Carolina.
