We serve the community
As Rotarians, we serve to improve conditions in 3 key areas.
Literacy
The North Charleston Rotary Club supports local organizations that work to improve literacy in children and adults.
We award grants for projects with meaningful and measurable results.
College scholarships are granted each year to deserving local students attending college.
Community
Service above self is how we strive to live.
Each month we volunteer at the Lowcountry Food Bank to help its efforts to provide the needed food to those in need.
Our also supports many community service projects through our grant program to local organizations that focus on our core areas of literacy and health.
Health
Rotary’s goal is a world free of polio.
This highly contagious disease attacks the nervous system. Children under 5 years old are more likely to contract the virus than any other group.
n 2018, there were 33 cases of wild polio and 104 cases of vaccine-derived polio. This is down from 350,000 wild cases in 1988.
