Katie Reams became the Statewide Director of the ALICE Initiative at Trident United Way in August 2023. Reams has worked with United Way over the last five years. Previously, she worked as the Director of the United Way Association of South Carolina’s 211 Services.
Reams’ primary focus is to develop statewide partnerships and identify opportunities and strategies that work to improve the financial stability of our communities.
Before joining United Way, Reams was in the Upstate as a Houseparent at Collins Children’s Home working directly with children and families in crisis. Reams serves as the Vice-Chair on the Fact Forward Board and is a member of the Lowcountry Continuum of Care Governing Council.
Reams has a B.A. in Communication Studies from Clemson University and lives in Charleston with her family.
Joey Current became the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Trident United Way in January 2024.
Current has worked with Trident United Way over the last five years. Previously, he worked as the Leader of Evaluation and Data Analysis at the United Way of the Greater Triangle in North Carolina.
Current’s primary focus is to develop community partnerships and identify opportunities and strategies that connect nonprofit, corporate, and government agencies to build collective impact. He is a data-driven fierce advocate for hard working families who strive to achieve financial stability.
Before joining United Way, Current managed community grants for the United Way of the Greater Triangle serving Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
Joey serves on the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s PAC Board, the SC Food Policy Council, and was the previous Vice President of the South Carolina Public Health Association.
Current has a BS from Clemson University and a Masters in Public Health from the Arnold School of Public Health in Columbia, SC and lives in North Charleston with his wife and 8-month old baby girl.
