TJ is a 2001 graduate of Clemson University.  He began his profession career at the Isle of Palms Recreation Department in 2001 and was named the Athletic Director with the City of North Charleston Rec Dept in 2004.  He was named the Assistant Director at North Chas Rec in 2009 and served in that role until 2018.  In January of 2018 he was hired as the Recreation Director for the City of Goose Creek.  He led that Department until July of 2021.  In August of 2021, he went “back home” as the Recreation Director for the City of North Charleston.

In his 22 year career he has been recognized by the SC Recreation and Parks Association as the Young Professional of the year (2012) and the Professional of the Year (2022).  TJ served as the SCRPA President in 2018, additionally he serves on many local and statewide boards in the recreation and sports field.
