Sara Wallace is the Executive Director of Lowcountry Orphan Relief, joining the team in September 2023. She brings a wealth of experience from diverse professional backgrounds, ensuring effective leadership and vision for the organization.

Sara began her career in broadcast journalism, working as a news producer for nearly 15 years across various TV stations in Texas and South Carolina. Transitioning to administrative roles, she served as a Marketing Coordinator at Kaleidoscope Marketing and later as a Governance Analyst and Executive Administrator at Blackbaud, Inc., where she honed her skills in strategic planning and executive support.

From 2016 to 2018, Sara and her family lived in Guatemala, where she served as the Program Director and Missionary for Nexus Missions. In this role, she managed educational programs for children, conducted after-school activities, and successfully raised over $221K for various initiatives, including scholarships and a feeding program during COVID-19. She also facilitated a partnership with Blackbaud to secure computer donations, enhancing students’ job prospects and technological knowledge.

Since returning to the U.S., Sara has continued her impactful work. She worked as the Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church in Charleston from 2018-2023, overseeing all children’s programs and recruiting and training a team of more than 50 volunteers. In 2022, she joined Coastal Creek Design in Mount Pleasant as an Executive Assistant, where she supported daily operations and administration, managed project files, and partnered with a marketing agency for content creation.

Sara was born in Arlington, Texas and moved to Colorado at the age of 11. She attended middle and high school in the Boulder area and moved back to Texas for College. She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and has been living in Charleston for 20 years with her husband and two children. Her leadership at Lowcountry Orphan Relief is driven by her passion for supporting vulnerable children and her extensive experience in both media and administration.
