Jessica Kinsella is the Stewardship Coordinator with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR). She has been with the Department over five years after graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) with a master’s degree in marine science.

As part of her work, Jessica oversees several islands in the Lowcountry, including St. Helena Sound Heritage Preserve and Wildlife Management Area (HP/WMA) and South Fenwick Island WMA, and aims to improve habitat for wildlife. She also works with diverse communities throughout the Lowcountry to better protect our natural resources, through volunteer opportunities, research, and outreach.

Her favorite part of the job is getting to experience something new every day.
