Chris Fisher founded Fisher Recycling in 1992 to provide a service for restaurants and offices collecting commingled material. The company still offers collection services for glass, processing over two million pounds in 2017. In 2006, Fisher created a new division that manufactures customized recycled glass countertops from the glass bottles collected from restaurants and other industrial sources in the Charleston Area.  The product is marketed and sold in FL,NC, SC and GA.

Chris served on the SC Recycling Market Development Advisory Council from 2004 – 2010 and from again to 2017-present. He reports on the glass industry activity throughout the state. Other areas of service include the Board of Directors Beaufort SC Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of Lowcountry Local First and the Sustainability Institute of Charleston for seven years and the Advisory Board for First Citizens Bank, Charleston and the Local Economic Development Council (LDC) Board for eight years as Vice President & Chairman of the Loan Committee. Fisher Recycling was awarded the Recycler of the Year by the SC Department of Commerce.

In 2017, Chris initiated, advised and consulted for two new glass collection businesses in Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA. Future expansion is being explored in Columbia and Rock Hill, SC and Savannah, GA.
