North Charleston Mayor R. Keith Summey spoke to the North Charleston Rotary Club and shared details about the state’s 3rd largest city.
Elected to his first term in 1994, Summey has won consecutive elections and is the city’s 3rd mayor. He acknowledged that although the covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for the city, finances and services are solid.
Examples that he highlighted include the North Charleston Gymnasium complex, the new indoor swimming complex, and new development on the former Navy Base. The city is also seeing redevelopment near the base and new state-of-the-art library being constructed.
Mayor Summey looks forward to more community and government collaborations to improve the city’s quality of life for its 120,000 residents.
