MEETING - Matt Jenkins, Tunnels to Towers - North Charleston Veterans Village

Matt Jenkins is a seasoned human services and public health professional with more than 23 years of experience serving communities across North and South Carolina. Throughout his career, he has held leadership and programmatic roles in nonprofit organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and state and local health departments.
Prior to joining the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, he served as the Director of the HIV/STD Division, with Mecklenburg County Public Health in Charlotte, NC. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in human service management and a master’s in public administration.
In February 2026, Matt joined the Tunnel to Towers Foundation where he currently serves as Program Director for the Charleston Veteran Village, providing leadership and oversight for programs and services designed to support veterans in achieving stability, independence, and an improved quality of life. In this role, he is committed to fostering a supportive community where veterans can access housing, case management, essential resources, and opportunities that promote long-term success.
As a United States Army Veteran, Matt brings a deeply personal perspective to his work with the veteran community. His military service has strengthened his connection to the mission of serving those who have worn the uniform and sacrificed on behalf of our nation. He finds his work at the Charleston Veteran Village both impactful and profoundly rewarding, viewing it as an opportunity to give back to fellow veterans and help ensure they receive the dignity, respect, support, and sense of community they deserve.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys serving in his Church, International & Domestic travel, and face timing with his granddaughters.
