Mark Gould
After a long career as an environmental engineer working on air pollution, waste processing, and greenhouse gas modeling, Mark founded the Charleston Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby– a nationwide volunteer activist organization working to pass legislation to put a price on the carbon content of fossil fuels and
return a dividend to each US household. CCL’s legislation is now a bill in the US Congress–The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (HR 763).
Mark lives in downtown Charleston with his wife, son’s family and three grandchildren.
The founder of Citizens Climate Lobby, Marshall Saunders, is an active Rotarian, and the Rotary Club nationally has endorsed HR 763.
The talk will be about the latest understanding of Climate Change, what is required to avoid massive climate destabilization, and how HR 763 contributes to a solution. Mark spoke at the N. Charleston Rotary Club three years ago on climate change. Much has been learned since then.
