Brenda Shaw joined the Lowcountry Food Bank in December, 2017 as the Director of Fundraising and Corporate Relations and was named Chief Development Officer in August 2019. She graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in Political Science and Economics. While at Wittenberg, she participated in the student government and was a four-year varsity letter winner on the swim team.

Her career path started in the world of economic and community development, but she gravitated toward higher education and spent five years as the director of scholarship management for the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. She then moved on to Ohio Wesleyan University where she spent 14 years as both the Director of Alumni Relations and as a Major Gift Officer. She has over 25 years of engagement, fundraising, and economic and community development experience. A native of Ohio, she has a grown daughter who lives in Columbus.

Brenda moved to the Lowcountry in 2015 and is an active participant of the Palmetto Masters Swim Team and continues to compete at the national level.

There are two ‘i’s’ in Fundraising – they should stand for inspiration and innovation, not imitation and irritation.
